Calcined Kaolin 

Product Description 

AnTec C-98 kaolin is an engineered and structured calcined kaolin featuring ultra-high brightness. It has been dehydroxylated by controlled heat treatment for removal of crystalline-bound hydroxyl groups and to improve brightness. AnTec C-98 kaolin is highly pulverized for better dispersion. 

Application information 

AnTec C-98 is a classic universal calcined kaolin. When used as functional pigment extender in coatings and paints, AnTec C-98 imparts high opacity and good tint strength and is a very cost-effective extender for TiO2. It is a fine particle size extender pigment that may be used in a wide range of water based flat, eggshell, semi-gloss and specialty coatings as well as printing inks. The high brightness of AnTec C-98 is suitable for applications where brighter whiteness and cleaner colors are needed. 

AnTec C-98 is also specially designed for use in paper filling or coating applications. It works in both woodfree and mechanical papers to improve brightness, opacity, blister resistance and ink receptivity with minimal impact to sheet and print gloss. In paperboard application, AnTec C-98 can significantly extend TiO2, improve ink receptivity, glueability and help control binder migration. Compared to other calcined kaolin products, AnTec C-98 has exceptional high shear rheology at high solids, which assists in raising coating color solids and reduces energy consumed during drying.
